Midwifery

Welcome to Midwifery

You'll qualify with the knowledge and skills to practice nursing and midwifery in a multidisciplinary context and in a variety of settings.

Learn how to care for a diverse range of patients and get hands-on experience across acute medical and surgical nursing, mental health, aged care and community care. Develop evidenced-based, professional, legal and ethical decision-making skills.

Choose between Employment Model (work and study simultaneously) or Supernumerary Model (clinical placements). Upon completion, you can apply for midwifery registration with AHPRA.

Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery

There’s a 100% attendance requirement for clinical units and 80% requirement for non clinical units. Online and at home study is required for this course with approximately 10 hours study per unit on top of direct teaching.

Placement rosters
Some health agencies won’t provide a roster before your placement starts, but you’ll get one on your first day. If rosters are available early, you’ll get a copy sent to your student email.
