What are some of your career highlights so far, and what are your short and long-term career goals?

Through my career I have been able to work in some awesome sporting environments, in the AFL, NBL1, VNL and VFL – but the biggest highlight so far would be building our amazing team at RADcentre and the success we are having in helping the Ballarat community to optimise their performance. The pinnacle has been being named the Federation University Business of the year for 2022.

Moving forward, the goal for RADcentre is to continue to build our business by supporting the Ballarat community and providing a workplace for local professionals to implement their skillsets, with all working together towards one common goal.

Describe the most enjoyable and challenging aspects of your job

The most enjoyable aspects of my job are helping someone to achieve their goals, whether that’s recovering from a long term injury or achieving a personal best time.

The most challenging aspects of the role are on the journeys to those success as we go through the highs and lows along with the athletes as they work towards their goals. Helping the athletes through those tough times can be tricky, but it is also really rewarding.

What are your strongest memories from studying at University?

The main thing I loved about my time at University was the community I became connected with. There were so many like-minded people who were keen to develop and improve to become the best they could be. The friendships I formed there are now lifelong and RADcentre employs a number of other Federation University graduates.

Do you have any advice about life after study to pass on to current students?

The biggest piece of advice I could give in regards to life after study is that your secret to success for that time all actually starts during your studies – get your hands dirty as often as you can, and practice implementing the skills you’re learning in the classroom into real world scenarios. Also, put effort into building a great network around you and try and learn from as many people as you can.
