What are some of your career highlights?

Since leaving Federation University my career journey has been exciting and accelerating, working in large retail and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) businesses that support my continuous learning nature. I began in a recruitment role at 7-Eleven Australia for two years running Group Recruitment centres around Australia. My desire to design and implement best in class talent practices motivated me to move to Kraft Heinz where I have been in a Talent Development position working with the Corporate and Commercial functions across Australia and New Zealand.

My biggest achievements have been:

  • 2021 Australia HR Rising Star of the Year, Excellence Awardee – AUS HR Awards
  • 2021 Excellence Awardee in Best Learning and Development Program  – AUS HR Awards
  • 2020 Excellence Awardee Best Graduate Program & Best Learning and Development Program – AUS HR Awards
  • Design and Execution of the world’s largest L&D strategy plan at Kraft Heinz, which saw 3,000+ seats filled across Australia and New Zealand
  • Improvements in the positioning of the Kraft Heinz Graduate Program across Australia and New Zealand. This includes making the lists of Graduate Australia and Graduate Connections top 100 lists and the Top 100 graduate programs in New Zealand. Specifically, this included moving up 83 places in the Graduate Australia List
  • Global and International recognition for the L&D plan and communications routine which I implemented sharing and setting best practice

Describe the most enjoyable and challenging aspects of your job

Firstly I LOVE my job and every day I count my blessings I am in this industry. It is so important to bring your best self to work. Every day I get to enable that.  Working with functions to better their people and working with people to better their career.  It is uncovering and unlocking that potential businesses have whilst encouraging a workforce of diversity and continuous learning.

The healthy challenge of Talent, Capability and Organisation Development especially in a post-COVID world is remaining relevant and ensuring every decision made is human-centric. This now allows us to be bold and disruptive in the way we support our people.

What are your strongest memories while you were studying at the University?

I was actually studying Accounting and failing miserably, but after a conversation with the career counsellor we established my strengths and drivers, which then led me to the Business Management and Human Resources degree. I will forever be grateful for that conversation.

My lasting final memory was from final year when we were to complete an internship for that real-world HR experience. I pushed for my internship to be within the HR team at Federation University, something they had never done before! The incredible team kept me on on a casual basis after I finished the course and my degree until I found a full time job. Without that foundation I would not be where I am today!

Do you have any advice about life after study to pass on to current students?

Be your authentic self and be proud, wherever you go, you deserve to be there so remove any self doubt and show them what you’ve got.
