Essential requirements for admission

The following programs have essential application requirements which must accompany your application. These may include supporting documentation that must be attached to your application, or the completion of external tests or supplementary forms.

Your application will not be assessed until all essential requirements are provided. If you are required to complete an external test or submit a supplementary form, we will be notified when this is complete and will then assess your application.

  1. To participate in the Advance to University course, you will need to have consent from your parent or guardian. A parent or guardian will need to complete and sign the form. 1. All applicants must complete and submit this online supplementary application form.

2. For applicants applying for the hybrid stream, the ECE Workplace Agreement Letter must be completed and uploaded with your other application documentation.

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary)

All applicants are required to have their non-academic capabilities assessed as part of their application. This is a requirement for many of the initial teacher training courses in Victoria. There are two non-cognitive online tests available which are designed to assess an applicant's personal and professional attributes.

  • Altus Suite consists of two parts, however only the Casper component is compulsory for Federation University applications. The test costs $80 which will be reimbursed by Federation University if you remain enrolled after the census date. We will receive your results 2 weeks after you complete your test.   • Alternatively applicants can choose to complete the Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Entry (NARTE) online questionnaire. This online questionnaire has two parts and is free of charge to complete. To complete this questionnaire visit NARTE (external website).

Bachelor of Performing Arts All applicants for the Performing Arts degree must attend an audition to assess your suitability for the program. You will need to complete and submit the form below to indicate your experience within performing arts and the location of your audition. You will need to submit the form prior to, or directly after you have submitted your online application. We will be notified of your submission via email.

Bachelor of Visual Arts All applicants for the Visual Arts degree must attend an interview and folio presentation to assess your suitability for the program. You will need to complete and submit the form below to apply for an interview and you will be required to submit images of your art work and an example of your writing. We will be notified of your submission via email.

To capture additional details that are relevant to admission to the Master of Psychology degrees, you will need to complete the entrance survey and provide a referee report. These should be completed prior to, or directly after, you have submitted your online application.

The ‘Referee Reports’ must be submitted via HODSPA's new psychology reference site. We will receive a notification once this has been completed. Please ensure two referee reports are submitted, one academic reference and one professional reference.

The 'entrance survey' must be completed via Qualtrics. We will receive a notification once this has been completed.
