Information for deferred students returning to study

How do I take up my deferred offer?

If you are commencing in Semester 1, you will receive correspondence from us in October regarding your intention to return to study. If you are commencing in Semester 2, you will receive correspondence in May. Once you have submitted your intention to return to study you will be able to enrol into classes online.

I have deferred for 12 months but I now wish to return to study earlier. Can I do this?

All deferred offers automatically stand for a period of 12 months. If the program you have deferred from offers an intake in the next available semester, such as mid-year, you can return to study early. If your program doesn't offer mid-year entry you will need to wait until the semester 1 intake before returning. Please contact the Enquiry and Application Portal for further information.

When will classes begin?

To view our Academic calendar, as well as other key dates, refer to our important dates.

Can I still apply for any scholarships?

Yes. We offer a range of scholarships and awards for TAFE, undergraduate and postgraduate students. We encourage you to apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for. More information can be found on our Scholarships website.

Can I extend my deferral?

An extension of your deferral period will be granted in special circumstances. Please contact the Enquiry and Application Portal for further information,  or phone 1800 FED UNI (1800 333 864).
