We are here to support you to settle in, meet new friends, get to know the local area and succeed whilst you're at Federation University.
International student support
As always, we are your first point of contact if you need help but don't know where to find it. We provide orientation, social and cultural activities and trips for all multicultural students, and can put you in touch with local services and community groups as well. We're also here for you if you have any problems with your course, accommodation or personal life. We'll either be able to help you ourselves, or if not we can put you in touch with someone else who can. Find out more >
Counselling service
If you are having a difficult time and need someone to talk to in private, if you're experiencing stress or anxiety, or even if need some help managing your work/study/life balance, the counselling team is here for you. This service is staffed by professional counsellors with extensive experience of the issues students can face and is free to access for five sessions using your Overseas Health Cover card. Student advisory service
This service is here to help you if you have questions or concerns about your course, assessment or the University in general. It is a free, confidential service which advocates on behalf of students and can help you to understand University policies and procedures. If you want to appeal a grade or a University decision, the Advisory Service are there to advise you. Explore the service >
Equity and diversity
The Equity office is there to ensure that Federation University is a safe and welcoming place for people of all nationalities, genders, cultures, faiths and sexual orientation. If you have concerns about how you are being treated on the basis of these characteristics, feel you are being discriminated against or want some advice on what is and isn't acceptable at FedUni, this service is here to provide advice and support.
