Angela Campbell’s research and published work in theatre and performance is both practical and theoretical. She is currently investigating the intersections between performing heritage and history, ecology and sustainability in theatre and performance. Her research interests have developed from 15 years’ experience as a freelance actor and theatre creator in a range of industry environments from mainstream to independent production, film and TV. Dr Campbell co-founded Hildegard Theatre, an award-winning independent theatre company that began creative investigations with culturally specific materials; song, dance and stories, and worked through intercultural collaboration to create performances that toured nationally and internationally.
