Cyclists get a Giant boost from state-of-the-art facility
12 January 2022
The Federation University Road National Championships is underway, with Australia’s best cyclists in Ballarat and Buninyong for the five-day program that includes criterium, road race and time trial events.
As part of a three-year partnership with Federation University, elite cyclists from the Giant Racing Team have been working with sports science researchers at the state-of-the-art sports science facility at Mt Helen.
The partnership will provide Giant with unique access to the facilities as they develop their training and competition programs.
Federation University will host training camps each year as part of the partnership, using the camps as an opportunity to help the team shape unique tailored programs specific to each athlete, allowing them to be their best.
The partnership will focus on the elite Men’s, Women’s and Development Squads of the team, providing the opportunity for long-term research around athlete development programs to be further finessed over the period.
Importantly, the research team will measure the various impacts of a variety of sports science athlete preparation and management techniques through this process.
