Resource sharing services

We source copies and loans of additional resources that are not available through our databases or library for you from around the world.

Eligibility

If you are a Federation University staff member, PhD student, masters student you are eligible for the Resource Sharing Service, which means you can request a copy of a resource from another library.

Honours, graduate diploma, and graduate certificate students are also eligible for Resource Sharing services, with a maximum of 12 requests per student per calendar year.

Request an item using resource sharing

There are two methods to request an item via resource sharing.

Submit your request via the:

  1. 'New Request' form in your Federation University Library My Library account.
  2. Resource sharing form in QuickSearch for results returned with 'No full text.' If we don't have the item in our collection, you can request using the form directly available from QuickSearch.

Delivery times

Expect a few days if items are readily available, postal requests for items can take longer.

Request a journal article or book chapter from another campus

Students can request copies of journal articles and book chapters held in print at Federation University campus libraries to be emailed to them.

All requests must be within the copyright limit (i.e. one article from a journal issue or one chapter/10% of a book).

Postgraduates can request a journal article or book chapter held in print from another campus using the resource sharing process via their My Library account.

Resource Sharing Services for Libraries

Federation University Library can supply copies and loans from most items in its collections to libraries via Libraries Australia.

Email requests will also be accepted if they comply with the Copyright Act 1968, we accept payment via Invoice or IFLA voucher.
