Biography

Nataša is a lecturer in TESOL and Literacy at the Institute of Education, Arts and Community at Federation University, Australia. Nataša's research and teaching interests focus on intercultural education, language pedagogy, and teacher education. She is a member of the research development group SJIDE - Social Justice, Inclusion and Diversity in Education at Federation University.

Nataša completed her PhD in 2023 at Victoria University, Australia, under the supervision of Dr Oksana Razoumova and Dr Teresa De Fazio. Her doctoral research investigated pre-service teachers' lived experiences of intercultural language teaching and learning. Nataša is a VIT-registered teacher with experience as a Languages and EAL/D secondary school teacher. She holds a Master of Teaching (Secondary) and a Bachelor of Arts (Interpreting and Translation).

Areas of expertise

Nataša is a teacher-educator researcher in intercultural education, language pedagogy, and teacher education. Her work aims to promote equity and social justice through intercultural education, particularly in the field of English as an additional language and second language teaching. She investigates the state of intercultural education and language pedagogy to identify the needs of current and prospective teachers, for example in terms of professional development. She is also interested in the theoretical underpinnings of intercultural education and related concepts, such as global citizenship.
